MSN8 Email A Hoax
December 28, 2005: An email claiming to direct people to a new version of Microsoft's popular MSN Messenger program has been shown to be a dangerous hoax.
If you receive and email entitled "MSN Messenger 8 Working BETA", according to Finnish anti-virus company, F-Secure, you are in danger of not only being duped but of downloading a worm.
The email goes onto explain that the "….Messenger 8 BETA has been leaked!" and points towards a site to download the ingenious instant messaging software. Called 'BETAWEBINSTALL.EXE', the software rehashes an earlier hacked version of MSN-M but buries a virus inside.
