Mar 08, 2005: Speedscan's plans to expand its operations throughout Asia-Pacific took a significant boost recently following the bank of The Phillipine Islands' decision to choose Speedscan's web content management solution.

Australian based Speedscan, is looking forward to setting up offices also in Singapore and Malaysia as it tries to dominate the market in this area with its speedVIEW Web archival and retrieval suite, that transforms electronic documents into web-based information that can be archived and retrieved with ease.

Mark Josman, the CEO of Sydney Asia-Pacific headquarters, explained how meaningful this latest deal is for the company.

"This shows that we are making significant growth in the region. It is good for us to enter the Philippine market, because it is rapidly growing with 90 million people living there. This offers tremendous business opportunities and a foothold for Speedscan in the region."

"We have people out in different regions of Asia now, searching for channel partners and looking for new business ventures too. This recent deal is a great achievement for Speedscan, because we beat major competition from many of the majors during the process of landing the contract.

"We listened to their requirements, and didn't just offer them something in a box. We applied the solutions to meet their needs exactly."

Speedscan hopes that the solution to allow the bank to deliver more effective customer service, reduce document retrieval and storage costs, and it will allow BPI staff to quickly locate and reduce document retrieval and storage costs.

The bank also expects the software to help it with core banking systems, such as the bank's automation loans, call centre and property management systems.
