HP Bolsters Desktop Virtualisation

May 21, 2008: HP has reinforced its virtualisation capabilities with the announcement of new mobile thin client hardware, extended software offerings and deeper industry alliances.

The company says its new 2533t Mobile Thin Client combines thin client and business notebook technology to provide enhanced data security and greater reliability.

HP says it is also planning to expand its Remote Graphics Software technology in order to provide richer media capabilities at virtual end points.

It also announced that it now has a full portfolio of Citrix-Ready thin clients and blade client products available with Citrix XenDesktop, as well as VMware Virtual Desktop Infrastructure certified hardware.

“Today’s news is the latest example of HP’s building momentum in the client virtualisation market,” said Roberto Moctezuma, vice president and general manager, Desktop Solutions Organisation, HP.

“We’re offering businesses a one-stop shop to meet their virtualisation needs with the most comprehensive portfolio of virtual client solutions, ease of management and the highest levels of IT security.”
