Organisations that need to find an easy way to create, build and use an Intranet have been offered a helping hand by Hostway following its decision to add Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services collaboration technologies to its hosting services.

Hostway claims that the addition of this software will make it easier for organisations to make web sites that can be accesses throughout the business.

Windows SharePoint Services provides tools so that users can share information, collaborate with other users on documents, and create lists.

Melissa Zuckerman, Hostway's product director, said: "Windows SharePoint Services enhances work-team productivity for small to medium-sized businesses through an easy-to-use, web-based collaboration tool. With SharePoint products and technologies, building and managing an Intranet becomes much easier than ever before."

In addition, Hostway believes that customers will be able to keep connected and productive, which will allow them to make better decisions and stronger relationship with customers, partners and suppliers.

Document versioning is also built in so that users can create and review documents via check-in and checkout capabilities. Business-critical information is dealt with securely through password-protected SharePoint sites.

Up 35 users can be added to the standard plan, which offers disk quota of 300MB, 10GB of traffic and 25 email accounts. The advanced plan allows for 85 users, offers 600MB of disk space, 30GB of traffic and 65 email accounts.
