Seagate expects big things from small devices

Jan 28th, 2005: Mobile workers are constantly being offered more convenient ways to carry around files, photographs and vital information in abundance, and Seagate is the latest vendor to showcase the finest small storage technology it has on offer.

Seagate displayed a range of new products this week, which aims to make it easier to carry around large amounts of storage, which take up small areas of space.

The Seagate 5GB Pocket Hard Drive, the Seagate 100GB Portable External Hard Drive, the Seagate 5GB Compact Flash Photo Hard Drive and the Seagate 400GB External Hard Drive were all on show.

The Seagate Pocket Hard Drive, according to the company, is the world's first 5GB hard drive, which is small enough to fit inside a pocket. It has been designed to carry audio (74 hours), photos (4,000 1MB images), digital video (4.5 hours) and business files.

The Seagate 100GB Portable External Hard Drive, according to Seagate, is the world's first USB 2.0 external drive that features a 100GB of portable storage and a 2.5-inch hard drive with 5,400 rpm spin speed.

The Seagate Compact Flash Photo Hard Drive is a 5GB CompactFlash media storage card, ideal for professional photographers that take a lot of high-resolution digital photographs. It can also compatible with PDAs too.

The Seagate 400GB External Hard Drive allows PC and Mac users to safely store massive amounts of digital video, pictures and business files.

With this quality of mobile storage on offer, users are bound to find it much easier to work on, develop research more important documents and material away from the office for the benefit of the company as a whole.
