SCO site on the back-burner

SCO site on the back-burner

Nov 3rd, 2004: The SCO Group has delayed the launch of its website which promises to provide information about all of SCO's legal battles to counteract the Groklaw.net website which aims to discredit all of SCO's disputes.

It was meant to go live yesterday, but SCO is now re-considering when it should release the site, if ever.

The delay is due to legal and management worries about the content of the website, which it believes could create big causes for concern.

The original name of the site was going to be Prosco.net, but that then changed to SCOinfo.com.

However, visitors to these sites will only see this message at the moment:"SCO is anticipating that it will use this site as the future home for all information relating to SCO's pending lawsuits and related issues.

"For current information about SCO's suit against IBM, please visit www.sco.com/ibmlawsuit, and about SCO's suit against Novell, please visit ."

SCO is involved in legal disputes with IBM, Novell, Red Hat, Autozone and DaimerChrysler, which originated from its insistence that it owns the copyright on part of the open source Linux kernel.

Groklaw was launched after SCO's 2003 multi-billion dollar lawsuit against IBM and is now used as an arena for analysing open source legal disputes.
