EMC extends scope of records management

Midrange businesses have a new opportunity to take advantage of enterprise class storage records management technology that will help them meet compliance needs thanks to the availability of a new web-based content management suite for fixed content.

EMC's new product is EMC Documentum ApplicationXtender 5.2 is aimed at helping organisations that struggle with growing amounts of business information and are looking for simple solutions to scan, capture and store business information that also allow them to automate paper-based processes.

The enhanced Documentum ApplicationXtender solution allows organisations to develop records management practices in intense business environments by integrating Documentum Records Manager.

Documentum ApplicationXtender 5.2 is already widely used in many industries, such as health. Rhonda Anderson, a clinical record administrator for the Department of Developmental Services and health information management consultant to a number of health facilities and providers said:

New additions to the Xtender include a web-based workflow client. It allows users to access, process and find business information, transactions and operational activities throughout an organisation.
