Snap increases storage for NAS servers

Snap Appliance has increased the capacity of its 1100, 2200 and 4200 network-attached storage (NAS) offerings to allow smaller businesses to use enterprise standard servers.

The Snap Server 1100 now has 250GB more capacity than the existing 80GB and 160GB capacity products and is perfect for companies looking for stand-alone file servers with immediate portable storage needs.

The Snap Server 2200 has 500GB, compared to the 320 GB current model. It also includes a RAID 1 disk mirroring. This particular server is aimed at companies looking for cheap, easy to deploy storage solutions with robust data protection.

The Snap Server 4200 now has 640GB available and includes swappable drives, anti-virus protection integrated and local backup software.

These NaS operating systems support most major network clients and platforms including Linux, Windos, Macintosh and Unix.

The Snap Server 1100 will cost $999, the Snap Server 2200 is $1,999 and the Snap Server 4200 is offered at $3,495.
