Storage software provider Veritas and Network Appliance have joined forces to create software tools which will enable firms to protect, archive, organise and manage data across a range of infrastructures.
This new systems will provide integrated solutions for data lifecycle management, regulatory compliance and disk-based data protection.
Companies will be able to index data, so IT managers and auditors benefit from saving time by quickly retrieving information using an enterprise search engine.

There are benefits to be found for companies concerned about Data Lifecycle Management and Regulatory Compliance. Veritas and NetApp plan to integrate enterprise storage systems to manage data from creation to end of life. The solution will enable policy-based data migration and archiving between NetApp FAS systems and heterogenenous servers, which are connected to NetApp NearStore systems, providing complete data lifecycle management for Data ONTAp, Windows, Unix, and Linux host systems.
