SNIA and FCIA Join Forces

March 19, 2008: The Fibre Channel Industry Association (FCIA) and the Storage Networking Industry Association for Australia and New Zealand (SNIA ANZ) have announced that they will be collaborating on the latest developments in Fibre Channel.

The alliance will see the two collaborate on Fibre Channel educational and technical programs, sharing and “evangelising” the latest developments for the technology, such as Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE), 8 GFC, port virtualisation and fabric application.

The duo say they will also be working together on new APIs, inter-fabric routing, security and other future enhancements they are currently keeping under their hats.

“Our partnership with SNIA ANZ is a natural extension of our ongoing worldwide collaboration with the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA),” said Skip Jones, Chairman FCIA. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to directly reach users in Australia and New Zealand.”
