Aussie outsourcing group nets services deal
Australian IT services provider KAZ Group has foiled its rivals by securing a three-year IT managed services contract with Alcoa World Alumina Australia (Alcoa) to provide the aluminium refiner with technical systems support services and 24x7 mainframe systems support.
The new deal represents a strengthening of ties between the two companies, with KAZ already providing applications development and support services for Alcoa as well as supporting the implementation of key projects under separate contracts. The combined contracts are worth over $5 million this year.
"As part of our commitment to providing customers with quality services, Alcoa has been reviewing its service delivery model. In order to do this we aim to select the best possible provider for a specific service," said David Humphrys, IT Manager for Alcoa. "Our partnership with KAZ helps us to achieve this commitment by ensuring the technology aspect of our business is running efficiently and effectively."
Lagis Zavros, Regional General Manager, KAZ Technology Services, added: "We have worked with Alcoa for a number of years, delivering their technology support services.
"We are committed to ensure our clients have greater access to leading technologies and resources, allowing them to successfully grow their business."
