Vignette Tailors Web Experience

Vignette Tailors Web Experience

February 28, 2008: As the web becomes more and more important to business, companies are looking for more personal and effective ways to connect with their customers, and to this end Vignette has released a trio of new products it says can facilitate more engaging web experiences.

Expanding on its Web Experience Platform, the company says its Recommendations, Web analytics integration and enhanced Rich Media Services can help organisations not only connect with users on a more emotional level, but also understand the intent of an individual site visit.

Vignette Recommendations helps to target Web experiences by tailoring to a visitor's intent rather than their past history by identifying and using virtual communities of similar visitors on any given site. The company says this can help guide users to the right content, product or search result.

Complimenting this, is the Omniture SiteCatalyst-integrated Web analytics package which provides site reports and helps the identification and promotion of valuable content and ads.

Finally, the company says the enhanced version of its Rich Media Services can help reduce the time it takes an organisation to ingest, manage, manipulate and publish media assets sans the cost and complexity of a digital asset management system.

“Making a personal connection with users online is more than just recognising a name or offering recommendations based on past behaviour,” says Mike Aviles, Vignette president and CEO.

“Today's Web users are demanding dynamic Web content that can recognise and adapt to persona and intent at a given time. Organisations that can recommend, deliver and measure engaging online experiences are more likely to build brand loyalty and keep users coming back.”
