Verari Releases SSD Blades

September 12, 2008: Following on from Intel’s release of new, large capacity solid state disk drives earlier this week, Data centre consolidation platform developer Verari has announced the industry’s first storage blades with Intel solid-state drives.

The SSD Blades are for Verari’sladeRack 2 X-Series platforms, and as with all SSD technology yield response times significantly faster than the fastest hard disk drives.

Verari says that as SSDs have no moving parts, the new Blades also require dramatically less power and cooling to operate, and also enable it to offer the highest density storage system available on the market.

“Verari’s incorporation of Intel’s SSDs into our compute and storage arrays gives our customers with extreme performance and reliability needs a huge performance and competitive advantage,” said David Driggers, chief technology officer, Verari Systems.

“By handling the same server workload in less space with less cooling requirements and lower power consumption, Verari is helping tackle performance challenges that no other solution can match.”
