Open Text signs on with NSW

October 21, 2008: Open Text has been awarded a contract by the New South Wales Government to provide its electronic document and records management software to government departments and agencies throughout the state.

Under the contract, New South Wales government departments will be able to directly purchase Open Text solutions. The initial three-year contract also includes a possible extension to five years.

Earlier this year, Open Text became the first supplier to achieve full compliance with the demanding VERS (Victorian Electronic Records Strategy) records management standard. Open Text also holds a whole-of-government contract to provide electronic document and records management software to the Queensland government in Australia.

Open Text's Public Sector Sales Director for Australia, Greg Mennie, said, "We are delighted to have been selected for contract panel status by the New South Wales government as well as the Common User Agreement for EDRMS in Western Australia.

"Our track record of expertise in providing for a return in investment for public sector organizations has now been extended with this latest panel award."

Open Text's New South Wales contract award follows a recently announced contract renewal with the Canadian Federal Government for a broad range of ECM solutions and a contract with the City of London to provide records management and archiving.
