HP Unveil SOA Governance Software
January 29, 2008: Hewlett Packard (HP) has announced a set of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) governance software and services aimed at eliminating risks like service disruption for businesses.
SOA is an architectural style of packaging business units and processes into services in a managed and secure network to boost communication and interoperability between business units. HP explains the release of the new governance software aims to capitalise on SOA’s ability to deliver IT services using lossely connected, reusable and standards-based technology that can be aligned to business needs.
“Effective SOA governance requires customers to establish a system of record that provides visibility into the services in their SOA environment, create a relationship of trust between providers and consumers of services, and secure control over which services are built and released into the production environment,” said Avrami Tzur, vice president, SOA, HP. “We are committed to providing industry-leading SOA governance solutions to drive better business outcomes for our customers.”
HP claims that their new Validation and Implementation Services for SOA Governance, Quality and Performance will help reduce risk and boost reuse of individual SOA services. The new services also help predict and optimise the performance of SOA applications and act as quality control for managing business risk.
Software Details
The new governance software is a shiny new release of SOA Systinet which covers service lifecycle management and integrates with HP SOA Manager. A new Eclipse-based policy validation plugin will also allow developers to check services against policies to ensure they comply with business and IT requirements.
