Pioneer's drives Blu-ray to 12x

October 2, 2009:Write speeds for Blu-ray are on the increase with Pioneer launching its first model to boast up to 12x speeds for single and dual-layer Blu-ray Disc (BD) media.

The BDR-205 drive also features a Low Vibration Mechanism Design to improve overall writing accuracy for up to 50GB storage space.

It also offers read and write speeds up to 16x for DVD and 40x for CD media

The professional BDR-205 Blu-ray Disc computer writer begins shipping October 2009. The retail version of this product, the BDR-2205, will be available in early 2010.
