Catalyst automates ediscovery document production
Law firms and corporations engaged in ediscovery now have a new tool that gives them full control of a critical stage of the process: document production, with the release of the Catalyst CR Production Module.
The module enables users of the Catalyst CR search and review platform to take command of every step of a production, from selecting the documents to produce through delivering them when the production is complete.
The Catalyst CR Production Module simplifies and automates production by allowing users to control the process directly through its interface. The user is able to do everything from customising the production criteria and adding the documents to be produced to checking the documents prior to running the production and selecting where the production documents are delivered.
Full control enables the user to monitor all aspects of the production and manage any errors that are caused by events such as document conversion failures.
"With the Catalyst CR Production Module, we have come full circle in automating the central functions of the e-discovery lifecycle," said John Tredennick, Catalyst founder and CEO.
"Now, our system provides end-to-end automation, from processing to production, and puts full control of the process in the hands of our clients. That makes it easier for them to meet tight deadlines, avoid mistakes and manage costs."
Features of the Production Module include:
* Full customisation. Users are able to fully configure the specifications for the production. Define the redaction set to use, set pre-production QC options, select output formats, choose a numbering style, add any endorsement or watermark options, and select the appropriate form of load file.
* Automatic PDF conversion. Select the documents to produce and copy them to the production folder. They are automatically converted to PDF.
* Error resolution. Documents that do not convert properly are placed in separate folders. Users can resolve problems by removing the documents, inserting placeholder pages or uploading corrected copies.
Access control. Specify which users can place documents in the production folder.
* Document rules. Create rules so that documents that match the criteria are placed in special folders. For example, create a rule that will place any document tagged as privileged into a special folder.
* Built-in QC. Before production is complete, users can review the production documents, remove any that were included mistakenly, and insert intentionally left blank (ILB) pages where appropriate.
* Configurable delivery options. Users can select from among several options for delivering productions, from delivering via Catalyst CR to placing on media and shipping.
* Production reports. The reports tab shows the status of the production at all times, including ongoing page counts and numbering and final statistics.
