IBM Acquires NovusCG
October 25, 2007: IBM has announced the signing of a definitive agreement to acquire the privately held storage and solutions company, NovusCG.
Whilst the exact financial details have not been disclosed, it is understood that the company will be merging into the Storage and Data Services business unit in IBM Global Technology Services, meaning the business will be merged into existing IBM departments and not run as a stand-alone business.
IBM hopes the acquisition will provide clients with improved access to business information, enable stronger regulatory and corporate compliance, and boost their overall information technology performance.
“The acquisition of Novus marks a turning point for our clients. This provides what clients have been missing -- the information that will allow them to align their IT and business strategies." said Val Rahmani, general manager, Infrastructure Management Services, IBM Global Technology Services.
The acquisition follows on from IBM’s earlier buyout of Softek Storage Solutions, which was also integrated into IBM’s Storage and Data Services unit.
