EVault Launches Unified Recovery Platform

September 25, 2007: Seagate Technology’s little child company, EVault has announced the release of its Unified Recovery Platform.

The recovery platform suits both virtual and physical servers, and boasts that it supports data deduplication, replication, Microsoft SharePoint and VMware. The software is powered by InfoStage 6, allowing it to be delivered via Software As A Service (SaaS) as well as the usual licensing or serviced delivery options.

“Companies big and small are under constant pressure to manage and protect critical data in complex environments, both in the data center and across multiple remote locations,” said Lauren Whitehouse, analyst at Enterprise Strategy Group.

EVault is claiming a number of industry first with the platform’s release, including:

  • A fully integrated, single vendor "unified recovery platform" for physical and virtual environments with WAN optimization and data reduction at the source, combined with data deduplication at the target
  • Backup and recovery SaaS with “hot” backups and granular document-level recovery for Microsoft SharePoint servers
  • Complete delivery options: SaaS, Software, Managed Services

EVault services over 20,000 small to large enterprise customers globally and has been in operation since 1997.
