Nintex Group sells OBS

Melbourne-based software developer Nintex Group has sold its information technology consulting services business, OBS, to Empired Limited for $A15 million.

OBS is one of the largest Microsoft Enterprise Content Management service providers in Australia, and a market leader in Microsoft SharePoint implementation and customisation services.

Earlier this year  Nintex Group was the subject of a US$222 million takeover by US private equity firms TA Associates and Updata Partners.

Empired is a publicly listed Australian IT Services Provider established in 1999 in Western Australia.

The acquisition of  OBS immediately adds presence in Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide to its established presence in Perth and Melbourne and adds  150 people to their nearly 300 person strong team.

“We’re really excited with gaining the skills and experience of the OBS management team and staff into the Empired Group. OBS is a great business and we will be actively supporting the current leadership team in continuing to do what they do best” said Russell Baskerville, Empired’s Managing Director.

He went on to say “the addition of OBS is complementary to our prior acquisition of Conducive, which was an initiative to diversify into application development and consulting to complement our strong infrastructure managed services business. OBS significantly enhances that capability in the Microsoft web content management and CRM space where we are seeing strong demand. This transaction firmly cements Empired as a major provider of IT services with a genuine national presence across Australia.”
