InoTec votes for new ANZ subsidiary

German scanner specialist InoTec has announced a new push into the Australia and New Zealand capture market via a new local distribution company for its Scamax range.

The locally-owned subsidiary will be headed up by Managing Director Glenn Smith, a nine year veteran in sales and support for high volume scanners and imaging projects.

Smith said he was confident the Inotec brand could build on its existing high profile sales to the Australian Taxation Office and Australian Bureau of Statistics.

These two Australian authorities use 12 high-performance Scamax scanners for automated image and data capture of tax documents and survey data.

"InoTec is excited about the prospects for the local capture market and we will be looking to give some of the existing players a big shake-up," said Smith.

InoTec will maintain an investment in the local subsidiary which will be majority Australian-owned. Headquartered in Albury NSW, InoTec Organisationssysteme Pty Ltd will manage distribution, service and support for Scamax scanners in Australia and New Zealand.

In Australia this month on one of his regular visits, InoTec CEO Peter Schnautz said the company is focussed on ensuring the local arm of the company has all the support and assistance to be successful in the Australian market.

"Our decision to have an 80% Australian ownership will better position us as contributors to the Australian economy and market whilst retaining the strength of direct factory representation," he said.

"This market is growing and we need to have a strong local partner. This will be our first and only subsidiary of InoTec operating under our name internationally, and will have close ties with the parent company and our manufacturing facility in Germany."
