Kodak’s New Launch

August 15th, 2007: Kodak has released its i1400 series of scanners aimed at small and medium-sized businesses (SMB’s).

The launch of the new Kodak i1400 series of scanners includes three high-end office desktop production scanners which are deliberately targeted at SMB’s. The range includes one simplex and two duplex scanners, all with USB 2.0 interface and production volumes of up to 10,000 pages per day.

The i1400 series are the result of listening to customer research and focusing on the needs of SMB’s. The research has included surveys and customer input which has lead to the conclusion “nearly 75 percent of end-users rank improving efficiency and productivity at the top of their lists of expectations from capture technologies” said Hauke Fast, EAMER product marketing manager, Document Imaging, Graphic Communications Group.

Kodak is the first in the low-volume production market to offer a document imprinter as standard. The imprinter puts tracking information directly onto documents as they are scanned. Another first for this range is Kodak’s A3 and A4 sized tethered flatbed accessories for all of the i1400’s. According to Fast, SMB’s are especially keen to see these benefits as well as speed increases, new image capabilities and ease of use.
