Office 2016 for Mac launched officially

Microsoft has launched Office 2016 for Mac, available as a preview since March, exclusively for Office 365 users, boasting an improved cloud connected experience with built-in sharing tools.

Office for 2016 will become available as a one-time purchase option later this September, while the next release of Office (for Windows) will be available later in the year.

"The new apps offer full retina display support with thousands of retina-optimized graphics, full screen view for native immersive experiences, and even little Mac affordances like scroll bounce," stated Kirk Koenigsbauer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Office 365 Client Apps and Services,
Office 2016 for Mac consists of five updated applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook.

“Office for Mac is cloud-connected, so you can quickly get to the documents you’ve recently used on other devices and pick up where you left off. New, built-in document sharing tools make it easy to invite teammates to work on a document together. When sharing documents, you won’t have to worry about losing content or formatting, as Office for Mac offers unparalleled compatibility with Office on PCs, tablets, phones and online,” said Koenigsbauer.
