Mobius Joins Interop Vendor Alliance

May 2, 2007: In the interest of enterprise-wide interoperability and increasing the ease of information search, access and management, Mobius Managament Systems has joined the Interop Vendor Alliance.

Lead by Microsoft, the alliance aims to make various technologies work better together – or at least, work better with Microsoft products. For its part in the group, Mobius has worked to make information stored in its ViewDirect archiving system accessible within Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 repositories, as well as other repositories, databases and file systems.

“Interoperability is of paramount importance to our customers,” says Mauricio Barberi, senior vice president of marketing at Mobius. “With vast amounts of electronically stored information scattered in disparate repositories around the global enterprise, organisations must be able to efficiently and cost-effectively store, retrieve and manage any kind of content stored in any repository.”

The company says its ViewDirect and Total Content Integrator (TCI) delivers, when combined with SharePoint Server 2007, comprehensive content creation, management and archiving for the enterprise. Mobius says that TCI is built on an open, standards-based architecture that ensures interoperability and supports both J2EE and .NET, and claims that ViewDirect is the world's most scalable, full-featured archiving platform, boasting the management of billions of items a year as the "archive of record" for leading organisations around the world.

“We are pleased to welcome Mobius to the Interop Vendor Alliance,” said Bruce Burns, senior director at Microsoft. “Organisations need integrated access to all electronically stored information across the enterprise. Mobius's experience in addressing this challenge will provide needed perspective as the members of the Interop Vendor Alliance work together to enhance interoperability and develop best practices for our customers and partners.”
