AXS-One Supports Sun Communications Archives

May 3, 2007: Records compliance management (RCM) solutions provider ACS-One has announced that it will be delivering full archiving support for Sun’s Java Communications Suite.

Support will come through its AXS-Link, a policy-driven archiving and management solution for Sun Java Messaging Server and the only archiving solution to integrate with the Sun Java Communications Suite.

According to AXS-One, full integration enables the size of the Sun JMS data stores to be reduced and gives users the ability to manage the risks associated with the retention, disposition and management of e-mail, instant messages and other electronic records.

AXS-Link is integrated with AXS-One’s Compliance Platform for a single archiving and electronic records management service, providing solid policy-based management of disparate electronic records.

“With the exponential growth of electronic communication, such as e-mail and instant messaging, the need to integrate archiving storage services into e-mail platforms is becoming a must-have business requirement,” says Mayank Choudhary, Group Manager, Marketing for Sun.

Indeed, taming the email beast while managing compliance can be tricky business. Due to this, the system is based on flexible archiving rules that enable organisations to manage each user mailbox according to corporate policies. Archived e-mails are accessed via the Sun JSM interface or a web based search portal, while organisations can decide to capture all or some messages before the data is delivered to a recipient’s mailbox for an indisputable and auditable chain of custody for every message and attachment.

“We are excited to be working with Sun Microsystems to deliver this type of archiving solution directly in its product line, and we’re privileged to offer our technology and services to make this high-level of integration possible,” says Bill Lyons, CEO of AXS-One. “As electronic records management becomes a top-level priority for reasons ranging from corporate governance to legal discovery, we believe this comprehensive solution meets an increasingly critical global market need.”
