Carbon Emission Tracker Launched

Carbon Emission Tracker Launched

May 16, 2007: Enterprise software provider Supply Chain Consulting, have launched CarbonView, a solution enabling organisations to capture, analyse and optimise carbon emission data.

Supply Chain Consulting says the tracking tool will allow organisations to measure the financial and environmental impact of their emissions and work to achieve carbon reduction internally across supply chains.

Development of the CarbonView commenced eight months ago, after Supply Chain Consulting reliased there was a serious lack of business tools available to assist them in going ‘green.’

To make the tool more effective, the vendor is also working with carbon database suppliers across the globe to develop comprehensive data on Greenhouse gas emissions. This data will allow organisations who use CarbonView to analyse and measure up the impact of their operations on the environment.

Tony Carr, CEO of Supply Chain Consulting says the tool will come in handy for organisations facing scrutiny over their corporate environmental policies. “By analysing supply chains at all levels organisations can reduce carbon footprints at various stages of product design, manufacture, distribution and sale,” he says. “The result is a double bottom line benefit of financial control and environmental improvements.”

The tools sites above an organisation’s supply chain, allowing a common carbon visibility platform without the replacement of existing systems and infrastructure.
