Remote Administration for Vista Released

March 23, 2007: The support applications are finally beginning to roll out for Vista now, with Australia’s Pixel IT announcing that NetSupport Manager 10.02 is now available with full support for both the 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows Vista.

The release makes full remote control for Microsoft’s new baby possible, as well as remote deployment, integrated supported for User Account Control (UAC), remote login / logout, full hardware and software inventory, remote screen monitoring and recording and more.

The company claims it is the first vendor to deliver a full remote management solution, and one that provides full support for Vista’s new security features.

"To date, Remote Control solutions require adding software agents to their start-up folders, disabling the user "accept / deny" security validation process and setting the Vista desktop to run in Windows Classic theme, all of these negate the significant benefits available in Vista,” said NetSupport Managing Director Graeme Taylor. “Our view has been that the only credible solution is to deliver remote control functionality without any impact on the remote system. Compromise should not be an option, especially in the arena of desktop security."

The company adds that NetSupport Manager also supports all other Windows flavours, from 95 onwards, as well as Mac OS, Linux, Solaris, PPC, Win CE and Windows Mobile platforms. The latest version is available now.
