Docusign Tools to Be Sold Inside SAP

Sales and HR teams will be able to create, sign and manage contracts inside SAP Sales Cloud and SAP SuccessFactors with data from signed agreements syncing back into SAP automatically.

The capability comes from Docusign Intelligent Agreement Management (IAM), which SAP will sell as SAP Solution Extensions. Docusign announced the arrangement on 26 October.

Two offerings are involved: SAP Signature and Agreement Management by Docusign for SAP Sales Cloud, and the same product for SAP SuccessFactors. Both are SAP-branded, sold and supported.

In Sales Cloud, users trigger contract workflows directly from the CRM, then create, send and track agreements without switching applications or re-entering data.

Sales and operations teams get a realtime view inside SAP of completed and expiring agreements and their key commercial terms. Docusign says this supports renewal planning.

Sales, legal, finance and operations staff can collaborate in a single workflow, with each step of review and approval tracked. Docusign says removing manual data entry reduces errors from switching between applications.

In SuccessFactors, offer letters and onboarding forms connect through to signed-document data in the employee's profile without manual entry.

HR teams also get a searchable employee agreement repository, with AI-powered data extraction. Identity verification can run within the signing experience, including US I-9 and E-Verify checks.

"Our customers want their core processes to run end to end, without handoffs between systems," said Sebastian Steinhaeuser, COO and member of the Executive Board at SAP SE.

"With these offerings, a signed deal or offer letter is no longer the end of a separate process," Steinhaeuser said. "Its data flows directly back into SAP solutions, where it can shape the next forecast, renewal, or onboarding step."

The solutions passed a premium qualification process exclusive to SAP Solution Extensions and are covered by SAP support services. They integrate out of the box with the SAP Business AI Platform.

Docusign IAM will also integrate with SAP's Joule Work to coordinate agreement-driven work across an organisation's wider technology landscape.

The move extends a long-running relationship. Docusign has been an SAP Solution Extension partner since 2015, and SAP already resells Docusign eSignature as SAP Signature Management by Docusign.
