Acer And Dataflex Conclude $10 Million DEWR Contract

July 6th, 2006:Acer Computer Australia in partnership with Dataflex has completed the main roll out of 4,500 PC’s and LCD’s at the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR).

The 10 million dollar contract also includes Acer management of the SOE for the department as well as asset tagging and image loading. The roll out see’s all the departments chairs upgraded over the next three years, with 2,500 units set up since September, 2005. The work was carried out after normal business hours to avoid any downtime for the department.

The proven track record that Acer and Dataflex share, with clearly defined and demonstrated capabilities, has enabled us to continue to win large rollout contracts such as DEWR".

Dataflex General Manager, Andrew Gersbach, says of the program, "The rollout timings were especially important to DEWR as downtime is something they cannot afford. So the Acer and Dataflex offering was especially attractive, providing zero downtime installation with hardware that is complete with the image loading and asset tagging". Dataflex, in conjunction with Acer, is also providing the department with a decommissioning program which will dispose of their old PC hardware replaced as part of the rollout.
