October release for Vista?

March 2, 2006: Shortly after the announcement that its new operating system will come in six distinct flavours, Microsoft has reportedly been telling its product partners to expect a release during the first week of October.

TG daily is reporting that Microsoft is preparing for a global rollout between the 2nd and 6th of October 2006 for its much hyped new OS.

Vista Server currently has an expected release in 2007, meanwhile Windows XP users can expect one more service pack (SP3) to be released in December this year.

Microsoft has made no formal announcement of the release date as yet.
