Trend Micro Evolves Network Security

March 21, 2006: Network antivirus and security provider Trend Micro has announced the release of its second generation Network Access Control (NAC) appliance – the Network VirusWall Enforcer.

The NAC filters network traffic to detect and block worms, BOTs, and other threats before any damage can be done to a network. It also scans new devices for up to date security software and critical patches as they are connected to the network, blocking those that aren’t compliant until they have been updated.

“By managing network access control, the appliance enables enterprise organisations to protect end users – as well as critical IT investments – and ensure business continuity regardless of potential threats.” says Damian Thompson, Trend Micro’s ANZ Enterprise Director.
