Red Hat, HP partner on testing around enterprise storage
Sep 22, 2005: Following the companies' recent announcement that they would deliver a bundle to include HP Serviceguard for Linux with Red Hat Global File System (GFS), Red Hat and HP have established a performance test lab to help enterprise customers deploy and manage open source solutions featuring Red Hat GFS and HP servers and storage.
The objectives of the lab include testing and configuring of solutions using the products from the portfolio of both companies, including Red Hat Global File System (GFS) and HP StorageWorks and Serviceguard. Key areas of focus will be performance and integration testing of application solutions, in order to produce best practices, solution guides, and white papers to assist customers with the deployment of storage solutions across Linux environments. Additionally, the lab will serve as a forum for customers to visit and preview current and future technologies from Red Hat and HP.
“Tested, proven and certified solutions are essential for enterprise customers, especially when it comes to deploying storage,” said Todd Barr, director of Red Hat Storage Solutions. “Through this new joint integration lab, we will demonstrate the value and performance of our integrated storage solutions from top to bottom.”
