US Air Force signs on with HP

April 16, 2008: The United States Air Force (USAF) has chosen HP for its imaging and printing services provider for the next five years.

For an organisation with more than 330,000 personnel the USAF has significant imaging and printing requirements, not to mention a fleet of over six thousand planes that need to be kept surveying the skies. The five-year Blanket Purchase Agreement covers single and multifunction printers, services, suppliers and management software.

“Being selected by the United States Air Force, an organization that demands the highest standards of performance, is a true testament that we continue to produce and deliver innovative, comprehensive and reliable solutions for our customers around the world,” said Jackie Wynn, vice president, Public Sector, Imaging and Printing Group, HP.

The inking of the contract with HP is part of a three-phase initiative, which is aiming to improve savings, security, standardisation, simplification and streamlining.

USAF estimates have predicted that the purchases will exceed US $400 Million (AU $431 Million) over the five years of the contract.
