Flash way to digitise documents

Paper documents can now be converted more easily into electronic formats thanks to the release of new software that allows users to generate documents into Flash (SWF) or PDF.

FlashPaper 2 will be released in August to transform physical text into an electronic format that can be easily archived and distributed.

Creators have struggled to find a solution as good as this in the past before because they have had to deal with the difficulty of supporting images or even multimedia; portability and readability across multiple platforms and devices; security and ease-of-use, such as web loading times.

Drawbacks for PDF files include slow loading online; users have to install a separate reader application and the PDFs are difficult to read on-screen on small devices.

However, the makers of FlashPaper 2 believe that by allowing users to convert printable documents into both PDF files and Flash format (SWF) formats, this brings document technology up to Internet speed.

The documents made by FlashPaper 2 are available immediately by more than half a billion web users around the world via any web browser.

Flash files can also be embedded inside web pages too, which is something that cannot be done with PDF files.

FlashPaper 2 also includes a text search function that allows users to locate specific content, and provides them with the ability to select, copy, and paste sections of text.

It also enables users to generate PDF files, so that they can be sent via email. Both Flash and PDF documents can be created through a simple option within Microsoft Office applications.
