Acronis Intros Exchange Recovery Tool

April 30, 2008: Exchange disaster recovery got you down? Acronis has just announced its new Recovery for MS Exchange, backup and recovery software designed to rapidly restore damaged Microsoft Exchange installations.

The latest in the company’s family of backup and recovery software built specifically for databases, Acronis says the solution not only protects corporate email servers from disaster and data loss, but has also been specifically designed for IT managers looking for an Exchange-specific backup solution.

Exchange can be restored to working order back to the point of failure without the need for a complete re-install. The software’s one-step process returns an Exchange database to the last known good state just before failure.

Acronis also claims that restorations are faster and the backup files are smaller as individual emails, files, folders and mailboxes can be restored, and not the entire Exchange application.

Should a hardware failure, Acronis says that when used in conjunction with its True Image Echo backup software with Universal Restore, bare-metal restores to a completely different piece of hardware can be done very quickly.

“E-mail is the lifeblood for most businesses, and Microsoft Exchange is the heart of most corporate e-mail systems today,” said Walter Scott, CEO of Acronis. “If something happens to the Exchange server, the first priority is getting e-mail back up and running as quickly as possible. Acronis Recovery for MS Exchange drastically reduces disaster recovery time from hours to minutes.”
