Toshiba Announce World’s Fastest DRAM Circuit Technology.
February 6, 2008: Toshiba have announced what they claim is the world’s fastest circuit technology for embedded DRAM, achieving a speed of 833MHz .
Embedded DRAM are applied to systems on chips for graphic applications, so they can read more high-speed data than external memory. This is particularly useful for high demand graphic needs, such as commercial graphic design and imaging applications.
Announced at the International Solid State Circuits Conference in San Francisco, the new technology will be utilised in graphic processing. Toshiba expects that the higher processing speeds will allow for even large densities to be trouble free.
The high-speed operation was achieved by what Toshiba is calling a pseudo two port system, a new technology that divides the memory into two and then reforms it into parallel data.
