EDS adds Xerox to document management offers
Technology integrator EDS has signed a global alliance with Xerox, adding to the successful relationship it has with Tower Software.
Under the terms of the agreement EDS will act as a systems integrator for Xerox document handling hardware and software applications. Xerox will become the "global internal supplier of choice" for printers, copiers and fax systems. In a statement EDS said the alliance "targets the burgeoning market for desktop and document management services." Clients of EDS will also be offered recommendations on how to manage their documents.
This week's deal follows a preferred printer provider and IT outsourcing deal inked in November 2001.
A spokesperson for EDS in Australia said it was a global deal and that the local ramifications are not clear yet.
EDS has had considerable success in the document management field through its relationship with Tower Software, EDS is a reseller of Tower Software across the globe and took part in the US Navy deal that Tower scooped last year.
