Merger brings info groups together
The Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) and the Australian Data Capture Association (ADCA) have announced their decision to merge.
The basis for the merger is that members of both Associations are in the business of data management, enabling them to benefit from the synergies of shared expertise and a broader membership base.
"We believe the relationship will achieve a stronger, more effective lobby representation and a heightened promotional focus in the interests of both Associations' membership," said AIIA executive director Peter Upton.
The AIIA will manage the combined organisation, which has effectively absorbed all branches of the ADCA. ADCA chairman Geoffrey Ramadan has been invited to join the AIIA Board until November, when all positions will be open to the 400 members. A special interest group was also formed on July 1 to maintain ADCA members' interests.
