Eastman Software awarded US$5.1 million contract

Eastman Software has announced it has been awarded a US$5.1 million contract from the US Social Security Administration.

Under the terms of the agreement, Eastman Software will provide more than 11,000 seats of its imaging, workflow and its COLD products to the Social Security Administration to automate its Program Service Centre processes at various locations across the country and aid in reducing reliance on paper records.

The deal represents the largest imaging, workflow and COLD contract in the industry on the Microsoft NT platform, and could grow substantially over the next several years.

Deployment of the Eastman Software system is expected to begin in early 1998, and will be rolled out across the SSA's six regional Program Service Centres, in addition to the agency's headquarters operations in Baltimore.
