Permabit Shrinks Storage Costs
November 14 2008: Enterprise storage specialist Permabit has launched a new storage assessment service that it says shows how active archiving can dramatically reduce primary storage costs.
Permabit’s Storage Assessment Service analyses information composition on primary storage and calculates the cost savings from implementation of the company’s Enterprise Archive for management of non-transactional and static data.
“With fixed-information growing at greater than 50 percent for most enterprises today and IT budgets declining, legacy approaches to managing primary storage capacity growth must be rethought,” says Permabit CEO Tom Cook.
“With our Storage Assessment Service, we prove the benefit of Permabit's solution in dollars, ROI and days payback - and we deliver it.”
Cook claims that depending on the environment, Permabit has been able to save enterprises millions of dollars in annual expenditure by reducing primary storage budgets by one-third or more.
