Fujitsu Integrates SharePoint Server 2007 with Scanners

December 23, 2008: Fujitsu has announced that it has become the first to integrate Microsoft’s Office SharePoint Server 2007 software across its entire document imaging scanner line.

The company has integrated SharePoint Server 2007 in workgroup to production-level scanners, all of which include the enterprise content management (ECM) software, KnowledgeLake Connect. Fujitsu says that KnowledgeLake enables any desktop connected to a Fujitsu scanner to tightly integrate with SharePoint, creating a more efficient work environment.

It says that with SharePoint, users can easily tie together disconnected islands of data, integrate technology with business processes, and target and personalise information for groups and individual users.

“Fujitsu has made a significant investment in enhancing the functionality of its scanner products to enable the wider Office SharePoint Server 2007 user community to benefit from fast, efficient and reliable document scanning,” said Doug Rudolph, vice president, product management and business development, imaging products group, Fujitsu Computer Products of America.

Rudolph adds that the company expects to expand its presence in the ECM market via its integration of SharePoint and KnowledgeLake Connect.
