TERiX Launches Data Centre Support Services

January 2, 2009: The private engineering firm TERiX has announced the launch of new tools and support service aimed specifically at mission critical data centres.

The company says that it is looking to bring tools and proactive services into the international storage maintenance space for data centres, with its new TERiXSTORAGE providing what it is calling a comprehensive alternative to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) support.

TERiX says that the solution incorporates the same support disciplines that TERiX has already successfully used while delivering server support solutions to 900-plus companies for the past eleven years, with the difference being that TERiXSTORAGE offers Proactive Service options such as monitoring, heartbeat, analysis and call-home capabilities to standard service level agreement metrics (SLA).

“This is our biggest initiative ever,” said company co-founder and CEO Bernd Appleby. “TERiX is growing its storage capability internationally and TERiXSTORAGE gives us a much more aggressive approach.”

“We are extending our Better Service – Better Value proposition to the high-end storage community at a time when decision makers are looking for ways to do more for less,” said Jim Olding, TERiX co-founder with Appleby.

“We offer storage monitoring, event filtering, analysis, and call-home capability as a part of the maintenance service relationship whereby TERiX technicians are involved in proactive rather than only reactive measures to eliminate system outages and downtime in critical storage environments."

The company says that TERiXSTORAGE offers initial support to platforms such as EMC Clariion, Symmetrix, Connectrix and DMX series models, along with several Sun STK platform models.
