Microsoft has revealed the business class versions of the Windows 8 Surface tablet will land in Australia and New Zealand on May 30.

Earlier Windows RT models launched in 2012 are not able to run pre Windows 8 desktop applications

The Surface Pro tablet currently available in the U.S., Canada, and China. has Windows 8 and runs on an Intel Core i5 processor. It is priced at $A999 for the 64GB model and $A1,099 for the 128GB version.

A range of accessories are available, including the Type Cover at $A149.99 and Touch Cover for $A139.99.

In Australia, the Surface Pro will be available from retailers JB HiFi and Harvey Norman or via Microsoft’s online store.
