Dimension Data Partners VMware

August 1st, 2007: Dimension Data has today announced it has obtained ‘Premier Partner’ status with VMware.

This announcement means that Dimension Data (DD) is able to access the highest level of resources from VMware, including professional services IP, advanced training and software. VMware benefits from the arrangement by being able to co-deliver virtualisation solutions, making full use of DD’s client base.

“Our VMware partnership allows us to meet customers’ virtual infrastructure challenges” said Ronnie Altit DD’s General Manager of Data Solutions.

One of DD’s major clients, The Royal District Nursing Service (RDNS) of South Australia is already a preferred VMWare partner for a server virtualisation embarked on recently. Servicing over 6,000 clients per month and handling 500,000 calls per year through its workflow program, RDNS is a prime case for DD and VMware’s virtualisation implementation.

Virtualisation has seen a massive take up in Australia and overseas, with the attractiveness of server consolidation and emulation undergoing a boom in recent years.
