Cybersource launches computer safe from viruses

Cybersource has launched a new personal computer which it claims offers unprecedented levels of security and safety for Internet users to prevent them from virus attacks.

The Safe Internet Computer has been designed to eradicate all of the normal fears that users have with general purpose computers.

Ron Fabre, the product and services manager at Cybersource said that people were sick and tired of being hit by hackers.

"Thousands of viruses, worms and other malware launch daily attacks against them. Spyware and adware infest their systems. Even worse, keyloggers attempt to steal their banking passwords. Every day, new viruses, trojans, worms and spyware appear on the scene. Anti-virus vendors cannot get updates out fast enough, leaving users vulnerable. It's getting so an average user cannot safely use the Internet any more. Until now."

Fabre says that the main reason why the computer is safe against attacks is because it does not run Windows and uses read-only media.

"It is completely immune to viruses because the code cannot be altered. Every time a user switches the computer off, or presses reset, it is wiped clean of any malware and is started up fresh again as factory settings. People are sick and tired of being attacked constantly by the never-ending cycle of viruses and worms, so this offers them more choice.

"Better still, the SafeIC needs no anti-virus or firewall software. This means you don't have to worry about updating our anti-virus for every new outbreak."

The SafeIC allows users to browse the web, do online shopping, access Yahoo!, Hotmail or any other web-mail accounts, search Google and work with Microsoft Office documents.

It plugs straight into an ADSL router or an office hub/switch.
