IBM Announce Collaboration Services for Business

March 5, 2008: Big blue has peeled back the curtain on a new range of services designed to assist organisations in getting on board the social networking and collaboration steam train.

The services are part of the new Enterprise Adaptability portfolio and are aimed at addressing the problem of achieving a return on investment from allowing your employees to use internal social networking programs.

“Creating competitive advantage in a global economy requires the ability to recognize refine and promote good ideas in an organization and turn them into products and services quickly,” said Tim Ringo, vice president, human capital management, IBM.

Ringo believes that Enterprise Adaptability will allow IBM to become a consulting and technology partner to any organisation looking to unlock the business value of connecting people.

The announcement comes on the back of IBM’s 2008 Global Human Capital Study which found that most organisations believed that being adaptable to change is essential to the business strategy. The study reached out to 400 executives in 40 countries, with only 14% of those respondents believing they were highly adaptable.

Enterprise Adaptability will incorporate software from Lotus and FileNet with consulting services from IBM’s Human Capital Management practices.
