JetStor flies with 42TB RAID array

April 1, 2008: The data centre is collapsing in size with a new RAID storage array from JetStor providing up to 42 terabytes of storage in one compact 4U enclosure.

It offers dual-redundant active/active array controllers configured with up to 2GB of cache memory per controller.

There are 4Gbit Fibre Channel host interfaces and quad 3Gbit SAS disk channel expanders to handle massive amounts of data. Engineered to meet stringent demands for continuous availability, JetStor SATA 642F RAID array spotlights a brand-new 128-bit AMCC RISC processor for fast parity calculation and I/O operations, completely cableless SAS backplane-based design with SES capabilities, and storage capacities reaching 42TB.

Low service and integration costs are assured by the JetStor's cableless design, three redundant hot-swappable power supplies with three independent power inputs, turbo cooling fans, and dual embedded RAID controllers. A three year warranty comes standard with every array and covers all components.

Pricing begins at $A33,599 (ex. GST) for a dual controller with no drives, and SATA drive capacities available include 750GB (7200 rpm) and 1TB (7200 rpm). A configuration with 42x1TB drives is $A55,999 (ex GST).
