Objective nets major UK contract

Australian knowledge and process management solution provider Objective has secured a contract, worth in excess of $1 million, to provide the UK National Health Service (NHS) Purchasing and Supply Agency with a contract management application and an electronic document and records management system.

Winning the right to supply the two systems, which were both subject to separate tender processes, will help further improve the company's standing overseas, coming as it does just weeks after the announcement that Objective won a major contract with the UK Public Record Office.

"The Public Record Office's decision to select Objective over many international competitors confirmed Objective's leadership position in the UK market, particularly within the public sector," according to Tony Walls, joint CEO of Objective. "This position is subsequently cemented by organisations such as the National Health Service."

Objective's system will provide the NHS with a complete solution for managing the entire lifecycle of contracts and associated documents, replacing a host of disparate IT applications scattered throughout the organisation.

The initial application will cover the Agency's contract management applications.

Richard Chandler, financial director of the NHS, commented: "This application will provide an ideal mechanism for the agency and its personnel to monitor existing and future contractual usage patterns and expiry dates, as well as enable us to supply procurement savings as an integral part of our reporting and auditing procedures."
