Two vendors have announced they will marry their forms processing technologies and image capturing technologies.
Electronic document capture provider Kofax has signed a licensing agreement with business process automation provider Cardiff Software enabling Kofax to market a version of Cardiff’s LiquidOffice platform that integrates with Kofax Ascent Capture.
The Ascent Capture platform captures data from paper as well as electronic sources such as XML, print streams, e-mail, application files, photos and Web forms. Integrating with Cardiff, enhances the Kofax platform with the online data collection feature-set of LiquidOffice.
Users will be able to capture and process information from online forms and deliver the information directly into the Ascent Capture system. There, the information can be automatically indexed and validated and released to any of more than 100 enterprise document management or enterprise content management applications.
Users will be able to design, deploy, complete and digitally sign HTML and PDF electronic forms. In addition, users can upgrade to LiquidOffice Enterprise Edition to get eForm’s routing, tracking and approval capabilities.
Cardiff LiquidOffice Data Collection Edition for Kofax Ascent will be available in November 2002. Products from Cardiff software and Kofax software are distributed locally by Dicom Australia.
