Len Asprey honoured by IIM
At its annual conference held recently in Brisbane, the Institute for Information Management (IIM) awarded life membership to well-known industry luminary, Len Asprey.
Presenting him with a commemorative plaque at the conference dinner, IIM chair, Robert Goode told members and guests: "The IIM board unanimously agreed earlier this year that Mr Asprey be awarded life membership of IIM in recognition of his outstanding services to the Institute since its inception, and to the industry in general."
Mr Asprey stood down from IIM's board of directors late last year, after serving on the board since the Institute was formed in 1997. He served as founding chair of IIM for three years, and prior to that was president of IIM's predecessor, the former AIIM in Australia. He also served as the AIIM Sydney branch president for many years.
Life membership is the highest level of recognition IIM can bestow on a member and as such, Mr Asprey joins a select group of professionals who also have advanced the industry over the years. His life membership of IIM builds upon the Fellow Member status conferred on him in 1993 by AIIM Inc (Australia).
